If your child is learning basic mathematics (Pre-K to 2nd), this table will help them improve their addition and subtraction skills through visualization.
Understanding the basic concepts of mathematics at a young age is pertinent a child's educational development. Additionally, (pun not intended but still well played) it's not always easy. This is especially true when you get into more complex addition and subtraction problems.
This math table, or math chart, as some people refer to it, is an easy way for your child to hone their math skills. So I'll stop talking about math and I'll start math-ing some math. |
So enough with the math talk, let's start solving some problems.
Here's how to use it: EXAMPLE 1: 2 + 10 = ? Here's a fun rhyme to help your child remember: DOWN and RIGHT the numbers take flight LEFT and UP you give some up. SO THE RULES ARE: If you move right, you add by 1 If you move left, you subject by 1 When you move down, you add by 10 When you move up, you subtract by 10. |
So to solve this problem, instruct you child to start at 2. Since they are adding 10. They would simply move down one block. They would thus figure out that the answer is 12.
Early on, they may use this 100 table in a more basic way. They may start at the 2 and move right 10 times. They would obviously still stumble upon the same answer, and it may take a little longer. However, this is often the first way that children learn. As they grow, they will utilize it more efficiently. Before you know it, they won't even be using the 100 table at all.
